How to Travel Cheaply

How many times have you wanted to get away from it all and visit someplace new, but could not afford it? Why should you have to charge your vacations now and pay for it later?

A tightwad vacation does not mean that you have to be cheap. You do not have to go camping in your backyard or go hiking to the local supermarket. There are many cost-efficient ways to travel, and tips to help you along the way.

Over the course of a year, many families are spending hundreds to thousands of dollars on extra un-needed small wants, instead of using that money wisely at a later time. Try keeping track of some of those wants and cutting back on them.

Pretend that every 2 days you get a bottle of soda and a candy bar at a convenience store - just a few of those many impulse buys that we are all tempted to make. 55 cents for the candy bar and 99 cents for the soda adds up to $1.54. Multiply that by approximately 182 days and you could have saved $280.28. Now $228 will not pay for the vacation itself, but it is a start.

Do not fly, unless you can get really cheap rates, or if you are traveling out of the country. Traveling by train or bus can be cheap, but it depends on where you are traveling. Driving to your destination may not be the cheapest way to go.

Think of the impulse purchases you make along the way. Snacks, drinks, souvenirs, tourist attractions, etc., and gas to get there may be more than a train or bus pass would have cost. Make plans a few months early to consider if you want to spend a lot of time doing activities at your destination, or if you just want to have fun getting there.

Do not travel during the holidays or mid-summer. Prices are always jacked up on hotel rooms, restaurants, and tourist attractions at most major cities. Instead, travel during the fall when school starts again, or early winter, when prices will be back to normal, if not cheaper than usual.

Take along your own food and drinks. Pack a large cooler with sandwiches, fruit, drinks, vegetable sticks, and so on. Also bring many types of food that will not go bad if they do not get eaten within the first few days. Crackers, cookies, dried fruit, trail mixes, and nuts are always good to snack on.

Bring plenty of extra clothes. You do not want to have to buy new clothes just because you do not have anything else to wear.

If you are traveling with young children, take a small bag packed with travel games, activity pads, tiny stuffed animals, crayons, and a coloring book to keep them busy. Even if you want the children to look around instead of playing in the backseat, it is always much better to have them, just in case.

Jot down every expense you make during this trip, and be sure to save those receipts. By keeping track of how much you spend on this vacation, it will be easier to make an estimate on how much you need for the next vacation, and to keep your family motivated from buying all of those small unnecessary purchases throughout the year.

City Girl Versus Country Girl

Again, I am going to generalize about women from the city versus women from the country, but it is only offered as a thought for your consideration.

It is a good idea to take stock of the place where you live. Do you live in a rural area, small town, or do you live in or near a big city? The Green Acres theme song is playing in my head right now.

But these are serious considerations. If you take a woman who is used to living in Moscow or St. Petersburg and put her in Hooterville, she is likely to react as Eva Gabor did when Eddie Albert suggested she give up the city life for the country life. Maybe she can make the transition and maybe she cannot.

Russians usually speak of the village in derogatory terms. My wife referred to the city we live in, Salinas, California, which has one hundred fifty thousand people as a big village. Truthfully, she is correct. It is the town center for a large Central California farming district.

Of course, in response, I refer to her city of Molodechno, Belarus, with one hundred thousand people, as a train station. The city is crisscrossed with train tracks headed from Warsaw to Moscow and Prague to St. Petersburg.

We joke about our towns, respectively. We are happy where we live. We look forward to visiting relatives in Belarus and America.

To the Russian woman, the village represents boredom. No stores. No culture. No movies. Gossiping neighbors. Hot summers full of backbreaking work followed by long, dark vodka soaked winters.

Truthfully, most Russians are one or two generations from the village. Americans are three or four generations from the farm. The industrial revolution is only one hundred fifty to two hundred years old.

However, lifestyle is a very real consideration and one you should discuss with your potential mate.

Generally speaking, I would recommend women who dont live in the big cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Kiev. Women who live in these cities have much higher expectations and are less likely to be happy with living in a small town or suburb, which is where most westerners live.

Women from other areas are more likely to have expectations that you can meet and are less likely to be disappointed with life in a small town.

Work At Home Mom Opportunity

When it comes to work at home moms and opportunity, there is no shortage in supply. Many people choose the route of a home based business opportunity. This allows you to sell a product or operate your own business, a fast and steady trend is the world of affiliate programs. Thanks to the internet, this trend is showing no signs of slowing.

Yes, there are many work at home moms that have grasped the opportunity to work at home, breaking free of the nine to five desk job. However, for whatever reason, many other women have not yet taken the opportunity to become a work at home mom, therefore there are many opportunities available. Some women might shy away from becoming a work at home mom, because the opportunity of a home based business does not always provide a steady paycheck or guarantee success. Furthermore, even if considered a work at home mom, it does not always mean that the opportunity you grasp, will keep you at home twenty-four-seven.

Time away from home

In general, a work at home mom will have to spend some amount of time outside of the home sharing the opportunity with others. For example, if you were involved in a Direct Mail Service opportunity, you may have to drive around town finding other businesses that would use your service. Almost any opportunity will require you to travel away from home occasionally.

Freelancer

The opportunity of a freelancer has appealed to many work at home moms. This has proven to be a fabulous method of earning an extra income, while staying at home much of the time. Freelancing covers a large amount of opportunities such as telecommuting or home-based business. As a work at home mom taking advantage of the freelance opportunity, you will be able to take advantage of the flexibility offered to most business owners. Generally, as a freelancer you are not selling any products. Essentially, you are selling yourself and the skills you posses.

To become a freelancer, you must possess a skill that is developed, valuable, and marketable all at the same time. You must be able to provide a service to companies that is needed and let them know you are the one they need. Many companies both large and small are looking for freelancers for different projects. There are many reasons they do this. For example, they may be looking for a cheaper route or perhaps they do not have an employee capable of doing that specific project. Many work at home moms are taking the freelance opportunity to get involved with web programming or website design.

Air Purifier For Asthma Patients

Since breathing comes naturally to us and we perform the function subconsciously, we hardly appreciate the need for it. However, those who are suffering form asthma, know the true value of breathing, as it is so much an effort for them. They, like us, cannot take breathing for granted.

An asthma patient suffers severe respiration problems since the lung and air passageways of his are affected. Although we are yet to find a perfect cure for the condition, there are certain things we can practice which will help us to at least curb the symptoms of asthma. To begin with, cleaner the air the patient breathes, more will he be avoiding asthmatic symptoms. And on this count, getting an air purifier at home helps.

We should know that impurities in the air like dust, pet allergens, chemicals, pollen all play a significant role in increasing the symptoms of asthma in a patient. It should be noted however that dust and allergens are by themselves not the cause for asthma. Their presence in the air the patient breathes can only make the problem more severe.

Asthma is caused either by the constriction or inflammation of the air passages inside our breathing tract. While constricted, the airways become extremely narrow and the surrounding muscles seem to squeeze the airway further. Again inflammation of the passage causes the airways to swell up.

Such constriction or inflammation can happen anytime, anywhere. However, with an air purifier, such occurrences at home can be significantly reduced. As it filters out the allergens and dust particles it allows the asthma patient to breathe much more normally. With airborne substances absent, things are much more comfortable for the asthma patient.

With proper air purifiers, there would be hardly any particles in the air inside the room. There have been studies that show that with HEPA filters a purity of 99.7 percent can be achieved within the room.

You might be contemplating buying an air purifier for your home. Before you do so, just take into account a few things. Of them, you need to know how big your rooms are, what kind of filters you are looking for, and what is the kind of capacity you will be happy with in your air purifier. There are loads of models. So you will be spoilt for choice.

Removing toxins from air is a great way to tackle asthma. And an air purifier does it best.

Dealing with Distractions

In todays business world it is not uncommon for many sales people to work from a home office. At first this may seem like a great opportunity, however, it does create some unique challenges. One of the biggest obstacles is the number of distractions that can take us away from our work and prevent us from achieving our objectives.

When you work from a home office it is easy to get distracted from work, especially if it is work that you do not particularly enjoy like prospecting or cold calling. Watering the plants, running errands or even doing laundry can be a welcome change from the daily drudgery of selling. And, if you have young children, the number of distractions increases dramatically.

I, too, work from a home office and have had to deal with this challenge. Here are a few ideas that can help manage these distractions and improve your productivity.

- Create an office. When I first began working from home almost a decade ago, I used to work at my dining room table. Unfortunately, this put me in the middle of our household action. My wife would turn on the television and I would be instantly distracted from my work. In other cases, she would talk to me or ask me a question simply because I was in the same room. As a result, it was often difficult to focus on my work. Now I have an office and do the majority of my work there. If you dont have space to create an office, find somewhere in your house that has the least amount of traffic and opportunities for distractions.

- Set specific business hours. This is particularly important if you have young children. It can be very difficult for children to understand that they cant disturb us while were working. If you have an office, close your door and place a do not disturb sign on it. This is particularly important if you are making client calls because it prevents family members from inadvertently barging in on you during a critical call.

- Use a to do listeveryday. Having a list of what you need to accomplish each day can help keep you focused; otherwise, it becomes too easy to do other things around the house. If you know that you need to accomplish a certain number of tasks by the end of the day, it can prevent you from getting distracted during the day. One of the challenges with this is that household duties or running errands are more enjoyable compared to work we have to complete. However, I have frequently found that once I get involved in my task, the desire to do something else fades.

- Set deadlines for the projects youre working on. Although I dont have anyone holding me accountable to these deadlines, it find that this approach can help keep me on track. You can also share these deadlines with other people to help keep yourself focused especially if this type of accountability works for you.

- Give your permission to relax from time-to-time. Its okay to allow yourself to get distracted once in a while. As long its not a regular occurrence, you dont have to worry too much about it. However, if your relaxation time overtakes your work time, then you need to reconsider your priorities.

- Share your goals and objections with a group of advisors. This type of accountability works well for many people because they know they will have to report their progress on specific projects.

- Recognize that the results you achieve are a direct result of the effort you put into your work. When I first started my private practice, it was easy to put aside work and do chores or run errands. In my first year, I treated work like a part-time job, clocking an average of 20-25 hours per week. When I evaluated my results at the end of the year I realized I couldnt afford to maintain this mentality. So I started working more. And, I got better results. I eventually learned that the more effort I put into my work, the better results I achieved in terms of the revenue and income I generated. This made it easier to avoid the distractions and focus more on my work.

- Lastly, you can try an approach I learned from Brian Tracy many years. When you find yourself procrastinating on a particular task or project, repeat the following three words to yourself over and over. Do it now. This can be a great way to prevent yourself from getting distracted by other things you would prefer to do.

Distractions are sometimes positive. A break away from work can clear your mind, give you the opportunity to refresh yourself, and increase your energy level. However, it is important to remember that you have a responsibility to yourself and your business to limit these distractions.

Isle of Wight History

Beakers, Romans, Saxons & Danes

Around 1900 BC the Beaker people arrived - so called from their distinctive pottery. They called the Island Wiht (weight) meaning raised or what rises over the sea. Then the Romans arrived in 43 AD and translated Wiht into the name Vectis from the Latin veho meaning lifting.

The Roman rule started under Vespasian and continued peacefully for over four hundred years. Then followed a period of strife starting with the Saxons under Cerdic and Cynric in 530 AD. Many of the natives were slaughtered and four years after Cerdic's death the government was divided between his two nephews Stuf and Wihtgar. In 544 Wihtgar died and was buried at Carisbrooke. In 661 AD, Wight changed hands again when it was taken by Wulfhure, King of the Mercians, but it was in 686 AD that the West Saxon King, Caedwalla, conquered it and brought Christianity to the Island.

For two centuries the people of Wight then led a fairly peaceful life until the Danes arrived this far south. In 897 AD their visits for 'burning and killing' went on for over 100 years so the Islanders lived in constant fear.

The Middle Ages

At the time of the Norman Conquest, William the Conqueror granted overlordship of the Isle of Wight to his relative William FitzOsbern who began the construction of a castle at Carisbrooke. The lordship of the Island passed to the De Redvers family in 1101, with the hereditary rights and privileges that accompanied it, until the Countess Isabella De Fortibus, the last survivor in the family, sold the Island to Edward 1 in 1293 for six thousand marks.

The acquisition of full control of the Island by the crown was important because the Island's vulnerability to invasion. The lordship of the Island was now a royal appointment. One of the lords of the Island - Henry Beauchamp, Duke of Warwick - was actually given a title of King to the Isle of Wight in 1444 by Henry V1, who attended the ceremony and placed the crown on his head.

During the Hundred Years' War, the Island, like much of the south coast, became a target for marauding French. The Island's only fortification, the Norman Castle at Carisbrooke, assumed a defence role for which it was unsuited owing to its central position; The French could land on the coast and burn and plunder while ignoring the castle. Towns and villages like Yarmouth, Newtown and Newport were sometimes attacked and burned. It is said that in 1377 a party of French fell into an ambush on the outskirts of Newport and were cut to pieces in Dead Man's Lane, now Trafalgar Road. They are supposed to be buried at 'Noddies Hill', now known as Nodehill or Upper St. James' Street. On the same occasion the French besieged the castle, but, according to the legend, retired on the death of their commander, shot from the castle's west wall. Concern about the French attacks is shown in the frequent modifications made to the Castle's defences in the 14th Century.

Tudor & Stuart Period

The strategic importance of the Island increased with the development of Portsmouth as a permanent naval base. Henry VIII accordingly built additional fortifications on the island at Yarmouth, East & West Cowes and Sandown, sometimes re-using stone from dissolved monasteries as building material. Sir Richard Worsley, Captain of the Island at this time, successfully commanded the resistance to the last of the French attacks in 1545, at the time of the loss of the Mary Rose.

During the reign of Elizabeth 1, the Island was again threatened by invasion, this time from Spain. Sir George Carey, cousin of the Queen and Captain of the Island, took up residence at Carisbrooke Castle in 1583 and undertook repairs to the defences. Although the Armada was defeated in 1588, the Spanish threat remained, and the outer fortifications of Carisbrooke Castle were built between 1597 and 1602 in response to the invasion scare.

At the outset of the Civil War in 1642, the Parliament assumed control of the Island and retained their control throughout the conflict. In spite of this, King Charles 1 went to the Island on escaping from imprisonment at Hampton Court in November 1647. As a prisoner at Carisbrooke Castle, the King made several unsuccessful attempts to escape before being transferred to Newport in September 1648, where abortive negotiations with Parliament (known as the Treaty of Newport) took place. In November, the King was seized by the Army and taken to Hurst Castle and then to his trial and execution in London.

Recent Isle of Wight History

In the nineteenth century the Island was transformed by the coming of the railways. Queen Victoria took advantage of the island's new accessibility by using Osborne as her retreat. Affairs of the state soon followed her and the modestly furnished family home had to be enhanced with apartments where she could receive foreign heads of state. However, her children enjoyed many hours and a great deal of freedom at Osborne as a visit to Swiss Cottage will indicate. Queen Victoria's affection for Osborne added to the Island's attractions of climate and scenery, and Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin & Ventnor expanded from fishing villages to fashionable resorts.

Queen Victoria's youngest daughter, Princess Beatrice, succeeded her husband, Prince Henry of Battenburg as Governor of the Island in 1896, and regularly used Carisbrooke Castle as her summer residence. After her death in 1944 the office was left vacant until, at the request of the Island, a new Governor was appointed in 1957 - the seventh Duke of Wellington. He was succeeded in 1965 by Admiral of the Fleet, the Earl Mountbatten of Burma, a great nephew of Princess Beatrice. When the Island gained full County status under the Local Government Act in 1972, Earl Mountbatten was appointed the Island's first Lord Lieutenant as well. Since his death in Ireland in 1979, the Island has been without a governor.

Used Car Dealers and Buyers - the Online Channel

More buyers turn to the online marketplace in search of their next used vehicle purchase every day. Nevertheless, this new marketing channel has increased supply while demand has remained relatively stable. What is the end result? Lower prices of vehicles offered through the online channel relative to those offered at the traditional dealership. We have all seen the internet only pricing or online specials tactic employed by dealers for marketing their virtual listings.

New Vehicles Online

Easy access to information on the internet has precipitated the advent of an ever expanding online new vehicle marketplace. Private sellers now have access to an increasing pool of potential buyers, far beyond the limitations of the local newspaper classifieds section audience. It is the vehicle dealers, however, who have discovered the power of the online marketing channel and are now achieving a significantly higher reach compared to the traditional means of local advertising. Expansions of the reach radius to 30 miles via the online channel compared to conventional reach of 10 miles are more or less standard these days. This phenomenon is due not in small part to the much lower cost of online marketing.

Used Vehicles Online

This new expansion of the geographical reach dealers have achieved through the online channel has had an impact on used vehicle pricing as well. This is especially true for those units listed outside the traditional customer reach radius accomplished via the traditional marketing methods. This comes as no surprise. Local dealers now have to compete with the online used car dealers encroaching on their turf resulting in outright price wars.

The Middleman

This begs the question: Will the online channel bring the dreaded (at least from the dealers point of view) disintermediation in the used car business similarly to what Dell did in the computer industry? Not just yet. Manufacturers wont be bypassing their networks of franchised dealers to sell new vehicles directly to customers anytime soon. They just cant. For the most part, this holds true in the used car market as well. There is one small exception to the rule, however. Some pure online outfits have adopted the brokerage model and are now offering public access to the otherwise restricted wholesale car auctions, while avoiding holding costs of inventory altogether. Though this isnt quite true disintermediation per se, it does eliminate the traditional used car dealership setup as we know it, resulting in significantly lower selling prices of vehicles purchased via this channel.

The Savvy Online Customer

But who are the customers they are competing for? Some argue that the online dealers are taking customers away from the local dealers, but are they really? I doubt it. Its not very easy to convert a car buyer who prefers to kick the tires into a pure online buyer of used cars sight unseen. After all, were talking about what is arguably the second largest purchase the average consumer makes after buying a house.

Yet, a considerable number of these conventional used car buyers have found a myriad of ways to harness the power of the ever expanding online automotive resources and tools available at their disposal to make informed buying decisions. Although this doesnt completely eliminate the face-to-face contact with the dealer to seal the deal, it certainly ensures that the dealers with solid online presence have a considerable advantage over their brick and mortar only counterparts.

The Savvy Online Used Car Dealer

Dealers love to see customers walk in carrying folders with web printouts indicating that they had done their homework and have more or less made a decision to buy. They know these savvy buyers are not spending their weekend driving around to different dealerships to find the used car they want. These have seen the inventory online; they have researched prices and checked the target vehicles history. According to a J.D. Power and Associates August 2004 Used Auto Shopper.com study, 36 percent of all used vehicle buyers are influenced in their make/model decisions by information they find online. As a fellow dealer so eloquently put it - most of the work is already done, so the only thing that we need to do is get them in a car and get their hearts pumping! The same J.D. Power and Associates study also found that 22 percent of all used vehicle buyers are influenced in their dealership selection by information found online.

Minimizing the face time seems to be a common goal for both dealers and buyers alike. Lets face it; there are very few buyers that enjoy the time spent at dealerships buying a used car. Dealers, too, know this. The online channel has enabled them to move the research and decision making phases of the car-buying process from the confines of the dealership to the computer screen of the potential buyers.

Pros And Cons Of Homeschooling

Homeschooling, as an effective educational program, has undergone numerous debates. In fact, opinions are equally divided between the pros and the cons. Homeschooling, indeed, offers benefits for the child but like many things, there are also some downsides to implementing the program. It is therefore best to know the pros and cons before you get your kid into the program. It is up to the parents to sift through the positives and the negatives of homeschooling.

Pros

Flexible structure

One of the things that puts homeschooling in stellar position is the fact that it is highly flexible and dynamic. Unlike traditional curriculum which is fixed, the homeschooling system allows changes, in fact it encourages them.

Tailor-fit to the child

Because of the fluid structure of homeschooling programs, the lessons can be tailor-fitted to the childs capability, pace and learning style. There is no pressure to keep up with the lesson of the day and students can start or finish their lessons any time of the day.

More practical learning activities

Homescholing is an unstructured educational program, which allows for more freedom in terms of learning activities. Parents can actually decide on what to do to better teach the subject. This means that there can be more unstructured learning exercises such as visits to zoos or museums.

Cons

Lacking in social interaction

One of the downsides of homeschooling program is the fact that it lacks the social component, which teaches the child to interact with other people. This is especially needed during the stage when the social and communication skills of children are just developing. To supplement the absence of this component, some parents organize social activities for their children.

Time constraints

Although time is rarely a factor in homeschooling because of the lack of a structure, it only applies to the children. It will be time consuming for the parents, some of which have to leave their work to go full time in teaching their children. Remember that you have to be with your homeschooling child all through out his or her lesson. In addition, a lot of time need to be given to correcting worksheets and making visuals.

Money problems

Although there is actually no tuition fee for a homeschooling program, the money problems come in when one of the marriage partner has to leave work to teach the child. Remember that homeschooling can take so much time. For parents who both have careers, sacrificing one source of income can be pretty hard for the whole family.

Get Paid to Drive Your Car

Whats the Deal?

Its quite simple. Big corporations are always looking for new ways to promote themselves. And the latest, most innovative way, is you. All you have to do is agree to place the logo or advertisement of a company on your car, and drive with it wherever you go. This new method of company promotion offers an immense benefit to the advertiser, and you profit from it. In some cases, the company will actually give you a new car with a logo already on it. And all you have to do is drive.

Does this actually work?

Yes. But be ready to wait a while before making any money you will be at the mercy of your advertisers. On average, applications are accepted within 90 days of submission. But the wait might be well worth it in the end. Today there are literally millions of people who are benefiting from this new advertising strategy throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Whats the catch?

There are two things you have to realize before considering this money-making tactic. First, you must be willing to have the advertisement on your car wherever you go; you are not permitted to take it off until the advertising term ends. And secondly, you must agree to drive at least 1 000 miles per month. But most people do this anyway. It is also a plus to leave in or near a large urban center and to park in a public place as much as possible. The advertisers will collect this and other detailed information from you before working with you. Moreover, you will be responsible for insurance, maintenance, and paying for gas. You must also be at least 18 years of age, and have a good driving history.

Where do I start?

There are quite a few companies on the internet that offer this service. What they will do is take your name and submit it to a list of advertisers, or better yet, they will simply give you a list of the advertisers who are willing to offer you cash for driving. In the latter case, you can pick your favorite and contact them directly. In all it only take one sign up (usually about $30) and a few e-mails and youre done.

How much will I make?

Between $100 and $3000 every month. Of course very few people make $3000 per month. But it depends on the company, how far you drive, where you drive, and the type of ad thats placed on your car.

Where to Look: www.makemoneydriving.biz

The customer service here is excellent. And the directory offered is very thorough, which results in the highest chances of getting accepted, and being paid more. The information provided on the site is somewhat lacking, but you can always ask for more details to make sure youre getting what you pay for.

Another Website: www.thefreecar.com

TheFreeCar.com features a tool to locate programs available in your area and is one of the more established "get-paid-to-drive" companies, but it is more expensive than the rest.

Still Looking: Google It

Search for: "get paid to drive your car" and browse through the results until you find one you like. There are many of these programs available, so feel free to take your time.

Car Alarm Systems Come Under Fire

As car alarm systems get louder and more numerous, more and more people are deciding that they've had enough. As is turns out, car alarm systems don't even increase the odds that a car will not be stolen. Many cities have begun to go so far as considering making the car alarm an illegal device to own or manufacture and sell to others. New York City has recently had several bills proposed by various council members calling for the restriction of car alarm systems within the city.

Many bills have been introduced whose main focus is to somehow reduce the annoyance that car alarm systems have become in many neighborhoods. Introduced in 2002 with nine co-sponsors, Liu's car alarm bill would effectively ban the sale and installation of car alarms that are audible within New York City. Introduced with fifteen co-sponsors, Moskowitz's bill of April, 2002 goes further in proposing a mechanism by which citizens could report annoying alarms to the police. This, in turn, would produce a warning letter that is sent to the owner of the offending car alarm.

The problem of car alarm systems has become such a large concern that Moskowitz and fellow councilmember John Liu have sponsored multiple bills that promise to fix the car alarm systems problem in New York City and the surrounding areas suffering from this noise pollution problem. Though some question the feasibility of making car alarm systems illegal, many people seem to agree that the time for some sort of solution being necessary.

Car Alarms Do Not Prevent Car Theft

Studies done by unbiased car insurance companies who wish to conduct objective scientific research to determine the effectiveness of car alarms showed that car alarms do nothing to stop car theft. Car alarm systems just plain don't make your car any less likely to become stolen or broken into.

As statistics seem to show over and over again, car alarms simply don't prevent vehicle theft. In cases such as theft, criminals are going to steal the car regardless of whether or not it has an alarm system installed. There are many ways to make your car less attractive. It is widely agreed that the best way to keep your car safe is to make it as inaccessible or unattractive to a would be thief because of the extreme lengths that he or she would have to go through in order to get to your car. One of the simplest ways to do this is to make your car the one that doesn't stand out form all the other cars.

Car Alarm Reviews Take the Worry Out of Buying

There are many free review sites, such as http://nextag.com. These are convenient to use, with the main drawback being that they only feature items from the most popular merchants. This is what some people want, but those looking for a bargain may be disappointed with the price range of products reviewed on sites like these.

The reviews section on eBay is relatively new, so some of the sections are not very populated yet, but I imagine it's only a matter of time before these sections are just as full of information as the discussion boards and other busy areas on eBay. You may just luck out and find the exact car alarm system that you've decided to get too.

Honda's Sci-Fi 4WD in the Acura RL/Legend Fast Cars - Now

Honda has come up with the most amazing 4-wheel-drive system, not for off-roaders but to improve the handling and stability of fast cars. It is being used first in the new Acura RL (Honda Legend).

Why is it so advanced? This SH-AWD system has the potential to increase cornering power and cornering safety by leaps and bounds. It will be ideal for supercars as well as luxury coupes.(More information about supercars at http://www.fast-autos.com/supercars.html )

First, it allows the amount of power sent to the wheels to be varied from 30% front and 70% rear to 70% front and 30% rear. True, some other systems get near that, but this allows the system to adjust itself to completely different conditions. On top of that, it can alter the torque from zero to 100% to the left or right rear wheel.

In other words, all the power can one to the right wheel one minute, and if necessary can be reversed so that all the power goes to the other wheel in an instant. This might be needed in slushy or snowy conditions, where there was a patch of bare road for a bit on one side offering good grip, but a bit later on a bare patch on the other side.

In addition to those features, the outer rear wheel can be speeded up so that it goes faster than the inside wheel! All done continuously depending on conditions. A few years ago this would have considered desirable, but science fiction.

More power to the rear wheel for acceleration

Confused? Well, let's start with the front-to-rear power. When you accelerate, the weight of the car is thrown on to the back wheels by the force of acceleration, so you want more power to go to the back wheels - if it all goes to the front you get wheelspin. When cornering, you generally want as much or more power to the rear wheels. SH-AWD does that.

On the other hand, when you are cruising along, you want more power to the front wheels as this increases stability. SH-AWD also does that.

More power to outer rear wheel for better cornering

The side-to-side variation in power is used to improve cornering power and stability. For example, when you accelerate through a corner, extra power through the outer rear wheel counteracts understeer, letting the car corner on rails. In fact, stability control systems used on many cars now do this by reducing the amount of torque sent to the inner wheel - this means that you actually corner slower than you could do. SH-AWD lets you corner faster.

On the over-run, you don't need that, and less power is sent through the outer wheel for optimum stability. But that isn't enough because when a car corners, the outer wheels have to travel further than the inner ones - by 5-10% on very tight corners, so the outer wheel normally goes slower.

Honda overcomes this with some gears in the back axle gear set which actually drive the outer wheel faster when cornering! This improves maneuverability and cornering at low speeds.

Electro-magnetic multi-plate clutches

All this is accomplished by multi-plate clutches operated electro-magnetically - a world first - and the gear/clutch set used for acceleration. In fact, these gears also serve as the rear differential.

An advantage of the electro-magnetic clutches is that the electronic controller does not need to control a hydraulic actuation system as used normally but an electric actuator - this reduces cost and weight.

Is this the best thing since sliced bread? For the person who wants to have stability and control, and doesn't want to know what is happening to the car -yes. Such a system is bound to reduce the input the driver gets from the road.

He will be less aware of whether the surface is slippery, or whether the car is understeering more than usual because the SH-AWD system is correcting things all the time.

Four Steps To Real Estate Investing Success

The following article is the result of years working in the real estate business. It was written to answer some of the most frequently asked questions, as well as address common issues that people have with this topic. I hope that you will find the information in this article helpful.

Real estate investing is always good and sometimes it's red hot. When it's hot dozens of real estate seminars begin rolling across the country and thousands of people spend thousands of dollars for investing education.

It's startling to learn that of all those thousands of eager folks who attend these seminars only about 5% buy even one investment house. Why? The real estate gurus sell the "sizzle" and make profiting from real estate sound easy. The truth is that it's simple, but not easy.

Here's a quick plan that will enable anyone to begin building financial independence.

There are basically four steps to investing in single family homes:

1. Buy homes below full market value. Yes, people really do sell homes for less than the home's full value. The key is to understand that most home owners will only consider a purchase offer that is all cash and within 5% to 10% of their asking price.

The successful investor learns to find financially distressed home owners who have no choice but to sell for less than market value. They have lost their job or been suddenly transferred; they are divorcing; they been living beyond their income; the family has been overwhelmed with medical bills and, not uncommonly these days, their money has gone to support a drug habit.

Those are examples of motivated sellers. They have to sell and they will accept something other than a conventional, all cash offer.

2. How do you find motivated sellers? You work at it! Like any business it is important to develop a little marketing plan. One that is simple, yet very effective, is the one that was proven 75 years ago by the Fuller Brush company; door to door sales.

You are selling your skill as a home buyer to people who must sell. Your are there when they need you and you have the skill to help them solve at least part of their problem. With door to door prospecting you will learn more and buy more homes quicker than any other method. However, most people just won't walk door to door for three or four hours per week. OK, there are other ways.

You can watch public notices for the announcement of foreclosure sales. Meeting with a home owner right after they've received a notice that they are about to lose their home allows you to deal with a very motivated seller. Other public notices that provide buying opportunities include probate, divorce and bankruptcy. You can follow the Homes For Sale listings in your local newspaper or Internet site.

You can telephone the names found in these notices or, and this is the least time consuming, send a postcard expressing your interest in buying their property. It will produce buying opportunities, just not as many as personal contact.

3. After you've found a motivated seller you must understand how to frame offers that provide benefits for both you and for the home owner. A good real estate investor quickly learns that this is not a business of stealing property, but of solving problems in a way that benefits the seller.

The home owner is in a tight spot of some kind and you can save them from public embarrassment and, in most cases, give them at least a little cash to get a new start.

No investor can afford to leave cash in every deal. No one but Bill Gates has that much available money. You must use creative techniques like, leases, option and taking over mortgage payments. Little or no cash is needed for those deals. You can find plenty of reasonable priced educational material on those subjects in book stores or on EBay. The same education that seminars sell for thousands of dollars.

4. You make your profit when you buy! Never make a purchase until you've carefully determined exactly how you will get to your profit. If you hold it as a long term investment will the monthly rental income more than cover the monthly mortgage payment? Will you sell the deal to another investor for fast cash? Will you do some fix-up and sell the property for full value? Will you quickly trade it for a more desirable property? Have a plan before you buy.

There you have four steps that even a part-time investor can execute in three to four hours per week. What's the missing ingredient? Your determination and perseverance. If you will unfailingly follow the plan for a few months you will be well on your way to financial independence.

OK, now that you have finished reading this article I want you to find more resources on this subject. Within just a short period of time you will have all of the answers that you need!

Costa Rica Caribbean Travel

If you're considering where to go on your next vacation, try the world of great tropical adventure called Costa Rica.

A Costa Rica Caribbean vacation lets you explore active volcanoes, see wild animals, see lush rain forests up close, and swim and lounge on great beaches. Costa Rica is one of the few ultimate paradises that have been left untouched on planet Earth. There are no military bases or nuclear power plants, and Costa Rica has lots of culture. In addition, Costa Rica is a tropical climate, so there's no winter to contend with. Costa Rica is a democratic society and is one of the most peaceful in the world. Its last civil war occurred in 1948. Since then, it has abolished armed forces and has also avoided despotic dictatorships, military coups, terrorism and any other forms of conflict so common in other parts of the world.

In addition, Costa Rica has a very friendly country. Costa Rica Caribbean travel provides a friendly, warm welcome no matter what part of the country you wish to visit.

Costa Rica means "rich coast," but Costa Rica has far more to offer than just its coast. Costa Rica is a country of incredible natural beauty and it contains many species of animals not present in many other parts of the world. Some of these animals are very rare and can only be seen if you go to Coast Rica.

In addition, plants are very diverse and beautiful as well. There are well over 10,000 species of vascular plants and many gorgeous flowers. In addition, almost 2000 tree species have been recorded in this beautiful Latin American country. Visiting this astonishing country should give you an incredibly exciting Costa Rican Caribbean travel vacation, with such unusual and innumerable flora and fauna to view in its natural habitat.

In addition to land mammals and birds that anybody interested in ecology would love to see, Costa Rica also has approximately 835 species of fish. 700 of these are saltwater fish. Anglers and fishers should have a wonderful time fishing in Coast Rica's clear blue waters, as they challenge themselves to see if they can catch any of these unusual fish species.

Now, let's focus for a minute on the northwest region of Coast Rica, called Guanacaste. Most Costa Rican Caribbean travelers go there these days because of its ever-changing scenery and the many activities offered. There are many tours you can take; no matter what your interests, you should find something you like. With these tours, take an close look at all of its exotic trees, plants, flowers, animals and fish. For an experience you'll never forget, a Coast Rica Caribbean vacation is just the ticket for you.

Whatever your interests, you should find something you like to do on your Coast Rica Caribbean travel. Some of these will depend on the region of the country you go to. In the rain forest, bird watching walks with English-speaking guides who are experts in identification themselves should let you see exotic species up close, while horseback riding provides another view of your Costa Rican Caribbean travel vacation

Another option is to take a canopy tour, which is a popular tour in every region of Coast Rica. However, to best experience Costa Rica's precious rain forest, avoid tours that go through areas from the north towards the west. In these areas, climates are drier so that vegetation is not as lush as it is in other areas.

A Tutor in NYC can help students to outshine expectations

Tutor NYC are the professionals who help the children to excel in their academic education. If a student is not doing well in his studies then a tutor can be hired for him. The tutor will polish the child by making him more active and smart and also increasing his interest in his studies. A tutor is one such person who helps the child at each and every step in his educational life. It may not always happen that a child has all the good qualities and can always excel in his exams. Well, it is the hard work and his dedication in study that makes him extra ordinary. Infact, every child is not born intelligent and talented but he can be outshined by the help of a tutor who helps the child to do his best during exams.

Every other child cannot become the most talented student among all other students but it is his hard work and good effort that makes him outshine among all other children. Parents are feared about the future of our children and also about their lack of literacy knowledge and numeracy skills and many other. With all these fears in mind, many people have hired the tutors to help their children to over come each and every situation. Home tutors are very valuable, working behind the workforce and concentrating on these educationally challenged individuals and thus helping them to develop basic skills to enable them to be more efficient learning.

Many parents who are working are not able to take out time to watch their child. The children are sometimes found to be indulging in activities not suited to them and thus are found to have a lack of interest in their education. If these activities are not stopped then it becomes quite difficult for the parents to handle their child. Then, there remains no interest in education and later it becomes difficult to handle them. For such children, home tutors are becoming more widely used and hired to take care of the child. The tutors not only provide concentrated learning but also a set time to focus on educational activities of the children. Tutors NYC are really very important for the children as they make them aware of education along with other activities.

Now, the working parents who have very little time to devote to their children can hand over the supervision of their child in the hands of a tutor. The parents can outsource the service of a tutor to look after their child and thus can rely on the tutor that he will take a good care of his child. The parents are relieved that their child would become more studios and thus will become more keen towards education. If someone residing in New York City, then he can come across many qualified professional tutors who take a good care of the children. A Late Dedication to Rosie ODonnell

Ive learned so much from these women. Theyve made me clarify my thoughts. Being challenged by them is an unbelievable gift. Elisabeth Hasselbeck (Todays Christianity July/August 2006).

Elisabeth, amongst a list of other negative traits, is a liar. For nearly a year, Rosie ODonnell and Joy Behar, her co-hosts on The View, have given her thousands of facts on what the Bush administration did wrong and illegally, not that she needed them to present her with proof. The majority of the country is aware of the administrations undemocratic behavior, of their continuous harmful actions that have led to disastrous consequences at home and around the world. Yet despite the stack of lists circulating the globe on this subject, Elisabeth learned absolutely nothing. Her thoughts were not clarified one bit, and embracing the challenges as unbelievable gifts? Yeah, right.

Elisabeth is a fundamentalist. And like all those who have a strict adherence to a set of basic ideas or principles, she is unable to learn. To maintain her extremist ways, she must do everything in her power to not alter, not even slightly, her ideal beliefs that were bestowed upon her by a higher power, like President Bush and Jesus Christ.

Elisabeth is a hypocrite who remarked on May 23rd, during perhaps her last feud with Rosie, I am all about facts, and accused Rosie of trying to steer her towards emotions. But Elisabeth has never taken one fact into account, brushing it off as if its a fuzz ball irritating her nose rather than evidence that the government, directly and indirectly, is hurting millions of people. She wept over the morning pill and got reprimanded for it by Barbara Walters when everyday, with a straight and determined face, she encourages that countries be blown up so she could feel safe.

Elisabeth is a coward, and Rosie was right in calling her that. Cowardice, as distinguished from panic, is almost always simply a lack of ability to suspend the functioning of the imagination. [Earnest Hemingway Men at War 1942]

Elisabeth is ignorant. Once, while once again defending the war, she had added that at least the Iraqi women were not raped as often today as they were during Saddams days. My family and I were infuriated. I was born in Baghdad, Iraq as a minority Christian and came to America at age ten. I visited Iraq seven years ago, when the Iraqis were suffering under different types of conditions caused by the U.S. imposed sanctions, and the country was safe. People could walk the streets without the fear of being killed, kidnapped or raped. Today my female relatives in Iraq are housebound as a result of the war.

Had Mrs. Hasselbeck ever read or viewed material outside of Fox News, had she educated herself during her spare time rather than watched The Bachelor crying over who was kicked off the segment she would have discovered that Operation Iraqi Freedom enslaved Iraqi women whereas under Saddams regime women had more freedom and were better educated than women in their neighboring countries. Iraqi women today cant work, go to school, take a walk or wear western clothing or makeup. Their men have closed their business for fear of the insurgents, U.S. soldiers and suicide bombings. The war has created 2 million refugees and another 1.7 million people displaced in Iraq. As for the illegal elections that everyone boasts about, the Iraqis came up with a new riddle after the winner was announced: If 60% of Iraqis are Shia, 35% Sunni, and 15% Kurds, who voted for the Kurd?

Elisabeth is prejudiced. She was outraged when Rosie brought up the innocent deaths of 650,000 Iraqi civilians because she does not want to acknowledge those lives, wishes everyone would just forget about them. Again her main concern is that she is safe, and that Bush continuously gets cheered on and receives blind support, despite the senseless deaths of women and children and our US soldiers who could have put their energies protecting our country right here at home without sacrificing their lives and destroying the hearts of loved ones.

Many have called Rosie a bully and oftentimes more disrespectful names, and they have even included Joy in their name calling. But if it wasnt for their wisdom, their humanitarian and educated outlook on life, we would have Elisabethians (little children in an adult body who are given power through the media or by the government; Bush, for example) running around, editing childrens books during bedtime story, voting to bomb a country here a country there, telling women what to do with their bodies, accusing adulterers of not loving their children as much as those who never cheat, and worshiping and defending President Bush as a brainwashed wife would her controlling husband.

Weam Namou was born in Baghdad, Iraq as a minority Christian and came to America at age ten. She is the author of two highly acclaimed novels, The Feminine Art and The Mismatched Braid, contemporary novels about Iraqis and Iraqi-Americans post the Gulf War. Her first book has been translated in Arabic and published in the Middle East. http://www.HermizPublishing.comPerrine Blog89102

Buying Car Registration Numbers

To some people car number plates are simply a means of identifying a vehicle or its owner. This rather simple description however is rapidly becoming extinct as more and more people buy car number plates to add a personal touch to their vehicles and make them stand out in the crowd. From city slickers to rural farmers, people from all over the UK are finding and buying their very own private registration.

The growth of the internet has changed the face of the number plate world. In past times there were only a handful of number plate dealers operating in the UK. Finding a number plate involved trawling threw lists thousands of registrations advertised in the press. Nowadays there are many more reputable dealers selling car number plates who provide the ability to search millions of registration online in a matter of seconds. With so many car registrations to choose from the first time buyer may be overwhelmed. However by deciding on the type or registration you want and your budget the perfect car registration can be found with ease.

When you are buying car number plates you will notice a range of prices for the registration numbers. From as little as 99 to over 100000, there is a number plate to suit every budget. The price of a number plate is dependant several factors include the age, rarity and popularity of the registration. An 80 DVLA transfer fee is applicable to all number plate purchases and VAT is applicable to most sales.

If you want to buy cheap number plates search the prefix style range of registrations for your initials. In many cases you will be able to buy number plates with your initials for under 300 including VAT and transfer fee. Irish number plates are also a cost effective option if you want to buy car registrations. These include the letters I and Z so car registrations with names such as WIL, GIL and CAZ can be found at cheap prices.

For more prestigious registrations search for dateless and cherished number plates. Dateless car registrations have no age identifier and can be assigned to age vehicle regardless of age. Examples of dateless registrations are A 99, 95 PR, TMB 213 and JJ 3461. The most desirable car registrations are number plates with low numbers or the exclusive number 1.

When you buy car registrations numbers from number plate dealers such as http://www.capeplates.co.uk/ there are two options on offer. The first is to have the car registration number assigned to your vehicle. This can be done free of charge. You will need to send the dealer your V5 logbook, MOT certificate (if applicable) and a photocopy of your tax disc. In return you will receive a new tax disc displaying your new car registration number and an updated MOT. The V5 logbook showing the private registration will follow from DVLA Swansea.

The second option is to buy the registration number on certificate. Certificates are valid for 12 months and can be renewed annually. Buying a registration on certificate is a great option if the private number plate is a gift or you wish to assign the number plate at a later date. A DVLA number plate certificate enables you to buy car registration numbers even if you do not have a car to put it onto yet.

When you have a new registration number assigned to your vehicle you must remember to inform your insurance company. Once assigned to your car there are no other costs involved with owning a personal number plate so you are free to hit the road and show other drivers what they are missing.

Ross ODonnell writes for http://www.capeplates.co.uk/ who offer unrivaled access to millions of car registration numbers. From cheap number plates to prestigious dateless registrations, Cape Plates can find what you are looking for.Olivia Blog455

Need to Carry Extra Luggage! Add Roof Boxes

The roof of a car generally remains vacant and does nothing extra except being a part of the body. Yet the part it plays is in no way negligible. In winters, it protects the boarders from snow and cold. In summers, it prevents rain from pouring inside the car. But this is not all that the roof of a car can do for you. You can attach roof boxes on it to get a better service from the hitherto unused part of your car.

On a normal day, when you use your car for day-to-day commuting like going to and coming from the office or shop, you do not feel the necessity of roof boxes that much. But on weekends or on holidays, when you set out for a journey that is different from your daily drive, the need for roof tops is badly felt. On that occasion, you need to carry things that you would not require on an average day.

Suppose you are on a journey with your family and you need to carry a lot of extra luggage that the boot of the car cannot accommodate. In such a situation, the roof boxes will be of great value. You can put all the extra accessories in it. Similarly, if you are out on fishing, tracking, biking etc. then also you have to take equipment that cannot be kept inside the boot of the car.

Some of the apparatus one needs to carry with him while he is on some outdoor activities may be not accommodated within a box. Hence, there occurs the necessity of some other kit that can take care of the rather bigger accessory. And it is the roof racks that serve the purpose very well. Bikes, fishing rods and wheel chairs etc. cannot be accommodated in a box but can be easily fixed with a rack.

Alexus Devon is an automobile writer specializing in automobile and car accessories (such as roof boxes) products and has written authoritative articles on the car accessories industry. He has done his Master in Business Administration and is currently assisting http://directcaraccessories.co.uk as a car accessories specialist.Patsy Blog5848

Internet Marketing: The Beginning Of The End Of Search Engine Optimization

One of the constants in life is change, and this is especially true in this Internet age. It is either you evolve, or you dissolve; nothing stays the same.

As far as Internet marketing is concerned, times have really changed. Before, online marketers were obsessed with learning any tips and tricks available in order to get favorable listings in the search engines. But now, the trend seems to veer towards unconventional Internet marketing strategies.

Instead of being trapped in the complicated mechanics of search engine optimization (SEO), the wave is now flowing towards the more accurate and humanized features of user-driven indexing systems.

Right now, you may be thinking: Huh? What do you mean 'humanized'? Worry not. Let us now analyze how Internet marketing has evolved.

Search engine optimization - the beginning of the end

Search engine optimization, or SEO, has dominated the Internet marketing industry for many years. It is widely accepted that more than 80% of your website traffic will come from the search engines. Although not many online marketers have come forward to back that claim, getting a good position in the search engines is still the way to go.

But search engines are not 100% perfect. They rely on robotic spiders to crawl through every single webpage on the Internet. These spiders will then index the pages according to the algorithms prescribed by the respective search engines.

There is nothing wrong with the process here. But the problem is that everything is automated. The robotic spiders cannot think like a human, therefore everything is either black or white to them; there is nothing in between. They might even list your web pages in the wrong category without your knowledge!

Humanized features of user-driven indexing system

User-driven indexing systems are totally different from the algorithms of SEO. Since the features are humanized, the users are able to classify websites under appropriate categories, or more commonly known as tags. This feature is so much more reliable than the approach of the spiders, because these websites are seen by actual human eyes.

Exit SEO, enter social bookmarking websites

Social bookmarking websites are the most popular kinds of user-driven indexing systems. There are a lot of these websites available on the Internet today, and they are very widely visited websites, if their Alexa rankings are anything to go by. Some of the more popular and hot Social bookmarking websites are Technorati, Furl and Feedmarker.

So what exactly are social bookmarking websites?

While surfing the net, when you see a website that catches your attention, you will add the URL of that site to your favorites under your 'My Favorites' folder on your web browser. With a click of your mouse, the URL is saved on your hard drive. This whole process is known as bookmarking.

Social bookmarking websites work pretty much the same way. But instead of saving a URL on your hard drive, you will be able to save it on a web server, under an appropriate tag. For example, if you come across an interesting dating website, you can save the website address under the tag 'dating'.

Another interesting feature of social bookmarking websites is that you can share your list of 'tagged' websites with other users. If some of them are looking for dating websites, you can do your bit to help them by sharing your list with them. How cool is that?

How can Social Bookmarking benefit Internet marketers?

This exciting new technique can benefit fellow Internet marketing professionals in the following ways:

1. It will soon replace the search engines

This is a frightening prospect. Some experts are predicting that social bookmarking will soon replace the search engines as the information finding process of choice by most Internet users. The best way to take advantage of this growing phenomenon is to start using its features as early as today. Google and Yahoo!, you have been warned.

2. It can easily be manipulated

Social bookmarking is so much easier to manipulate. You have all the freedom in the world to place all your favorite websites in any desired tags without going through the sickening algorithms of the search engines.

3. The potential of tags

Tags are widely considered as the 'keywords for the new Internet age'. They are now beginning to establish an interconnectivity that will soon cover many platforms and channels. If you want to dominate certain specific tags, then social bookmarking websites can be your launching platform.

Social bookmarking is destined to be the next big thing in Internet marketing. The current phenomenon that has taken the Internet by storm is blogging, and those who have taken early advantage are now reaping handsome rewards.

If you do not want to miss out on the next big thing, then now is the time for you to embark on the bookmarking adventure so that you are one step ahead of your competitors.

How To Find The Perfect Man For Online Dating

What do you expect the perfect man for online dating to be like? Make yourself a list if it helps, but whatever steps you take, there is one important thing to do - realize that whatever you write down, the perfect man for online dating is not easily found. As you have not found him already, it's time to take that extra step and do something about finding him and online dating may just be the answer you are looking for.

It is quite understandable that you might have the impression that the only men who wait in the online queues of online dating services are the desperate or those of dubious character, but although that used to be the case, today, things are very different with respectable online dating agencies taking very deliberate steps to make it a rewarding experience. As if to confirm the reliability of such services, it is now the number one way of meeting someone new throughout the world - the number one answer to "how to find the perfect man". It is likely that many people that you already know have tried it at least once, so if you want to know how to find the perfect man for online dating, keep reading!

First of all, don't start pondering on whether or not you have all the right assets. You could spend forever worrying about such things as your figure, your hair colour, your interests and so on. Just be who you are so that when the time comes for you to meet someone, you are genuine and then when a man shows interest it is in the real you and not some image he has in his head. Let beauty really be in the "eye of the beholder". In different parts of the world, the interpretation of what is considered to be beautiful can be quite contrasting. This is true even within your own country. Online dating is definitely the way to go to meet eligible men that you would otherwise not have the chance to meet.

The starting point is to find a male friend - don't expect it to be an instant love affair! (Though it does happen). For a lasting relationship, you cannot beat friendship as a foundation.

So the next step for you to discover how to find the perfect man for online dating is to find an online dating service that suits you. I don't run such an agency, but I would invite you to visit my site below where you will find not only various respected online dating services advertised, but a wealth of further articles to give you plenty of background and aspects to consider. Enjoy your experience - all it takes is a mouse click!

The Benefits of Donating Your Car

Do you have an old vehicle that you no longer drive? If that vehicle still runs, do you plan on doing anything with it? If not, you may want to think about donating it. Car donations are rapidly increasing in popularity. Each year, a fairly large number of individuals and businesses make the decision to donate the cars that they no longer need or what. Why is that? Because there are literally an unlimited number of benefits to donating your car.

Perhaps, the greatest benefit of giving your car away, as a car donation, is that you will be helping out a charitable organization that needs it. Many of the receivers of donated cars are non-profit organizations. These non-profit organizations often work to help those that are in need. For instance, many cities have local food pantries. Volunteers may not only need to collect food, but deliver the food to those who need it. Without a vehicle, volunteers may be unable to complete all of their tasks. Your car donation could prevent that from happening.

When giving your car away as a donation, you should also be proud. This is another benefit to donating your car. Most individuals, who do donate their cars, are left with a feeling of selflessness and pleasure. Not all individuals make the decision to donate their cars. In fact, if given the opportunity, many car owners would choose to sell their car before donating it to charity. You should be proud of yourself for making to decision to help someone else before helping yourself.

Another one of the many benefits to donating your car is that it is relatively easy to do. In fact, when it comes to car donations, you will find that you have a number of different options. First, you could contact all local charities and ask if they would like to acquire your car, as a donation. If you do not have the time to do this, you could contact a company or organization that specializes in car donations. Once they have your car in their possession, they will then search for a charitable organization who could use it. Although you will not necessarily know where your car will end up, you will find that using a car donation company saves you time and maybe even money.

As mentioned above, you should be proud of yourself for making the decision to donate your car, instead of selling it for a profit. While it may have been difficult to do, you will not necessarily receive nothing for your good gesture. Depending on whom you donate your vehicle to and the vehicles worth, you may be able to receive a car donation tax deduction. It is important to note that you will not be compensated for the whole cost of your car, but it will be better than receiving nothing at all.

As you can easily see, there are a number of different benefits to donating your car. No matter which charitable organization it ends up with, it is likely that your car donation will be put to good use.

Your Business + Frequent Flyer Miles = Many Benefits!

There are many incentives available to those that take advantage of frequent flyer programs. Almost any airline in todays day and age is offering some type of benefit program to keep their customers loyal to their airline. Taking advantage of these programs can allow people, and businesses, to accumulate something rather valuable to them free travel. Every year more and more people decide to travel by air, and it only makes sense that they would be willing to do anything possible to save some money, and add more comfort to their journeys. This is why many businesses, as well as people, are looking into frequent flyer programs. Although, the million dollar question remains what benefits are available to a business?

Big Benefit #1 Tax Free

Many of the companies, to date, that utilize these frequent flyer miles are not necessarily paying taxes on them. Frequent flyer miles are not usually attached to any one particular business in most cases. Instead, the person that is flying is the person whose name is utilized. For example, if you have a John Smith in your office that is flying 4000 miles a month, he should be earning plenty of frequent flyer miles. This gives employers an incentive to have their employees travel around the country and take care of the company business. After all of that additional flying, Mr. Smith has plenty of air miles that he can then redeem to take his family on a vacation without the worry of expensive airfare.

Benefits Just Keep Rolling In

There are other exciting benefits to using frequent flyer programs as well. Benefits can include seat selection priority, and upgrading from economy class to first class free of charge. And what if you needed Mr. Smith to make a meeting cross country and the only flight available was full? Being a part of the frequent flyer program as an elite member can also allow you the ability to bump an economy passenger and take their seat on that flight. That benefit could really come in handy with meetings happening on extremely short notice. Also, as the business owner these frequent flyer miles can be added to your specific account allowing you to personally save on air travel for your employees or yourself.

These frequent flyer programs are and intricate part of business if you are looking to save money transporting employees cross country. There are various airlines that are offering many different program options including the benefits mentioned above, but also many others. The main goal is to get enrolled in one of these programs and attain elite status as soon as possible with the purchasing of all those expensive airline tickets on a regular basis.

Bleeding Green and Gold

I started following Major League Baseball at the age of 10, shortly after the A's moved from Kansas City to Oakland in 1968, and it didnt take me very long at all to figure out that baseball was, at least for me, the greatest sport in the history of the universe (nothing else has ever come close).

I regularly begged my parents to take me to A's games as a youngster, but it never happened often enough for my liking (Oakland was a long, arduous 90 minute drive away from our home in the central valley).

Nonetheless, I always treasured every moment of the games I did attend.

I quickly became attached to the A's in a big way, and followed their every move as if my own life hung in the balance. I remember being absolutely crushed when they were swept by the Baltimore Orioles in the first and (at the time) only round of playoffs in 1971... and then thrilled beyond my wildest imagination only a year later.

In those early years I watched the A's change from a team of mediocrity to one of greatness. Since then, I have seen them morph a number of times from awful to brilliant and back again. Of course I still feel disappointment when they fail to clinch a playoff berth, or lose a series in the post season (as they just finished doing), but tend to get over it much more quickly than I did as a kid.

When I moved abroad in 1981, and in the many years away from home that followed (nearly 25), I discovered that my passion for baseball and the A's did not diminish at all... if anything, it may have grown even stronger.

I still tried to attend games when making trips home to visit friends and family. In fact, I made a point of scheduling several vacations near the end of the season so I'd be able to watch the pennant races wind down, and then catch the first round of playoffs (by the way, after moving back to northern California last year, I find that a 90 minute drive to Oakland takes absolutely no time at all!)

Through the years I have been fortunate enough to attend a few post-season games, though never during a World Series (wasn't persuasive enough to talk my parents into that). And although I have never been there to see them clinch any sort of championship in person (not that they didnt have the opportunity), I do have a handful of special baseball memories to look back on.

In addition to all the great players and games I've seen at the Coliseum, I was also lucky enough to witness George Hendrick's first career home run (a walkoff with 2 outs in the 10th inning), Sal Bando's grand slam on the 4th of July, watched Bert Campinaris fling his bat over the head of Tigers pitcher Lerrin LaGrow after being hit by a pitch in game two of the '72 Division Series and, on the final day of the regular season in 1975, saw the quartet of Vida Blue, Glenn Abbott, Paul Lindblad and Rollie Fingers combine on a no-hitter to beat the Angels (I was also there to see Jeter's miracle-flip to Posada in game three of the 2001 Division Series, but as an A's fan its awfully hard to rate that as a highlight).

My allegiance to the A's has certainly been tested a time or two in my nearly 40 year career as a fan, most notably when former owner Charles O. Finley saw many of my favorite players heading for the exits in the mid-seventies, and courteously stood there holding the door open for them (heck, he even gave a couple of them a nudge). I threatened to start following another club at the time, but could never actually bring myself to do it.

The Oakland A's have always been my one and only team, and the fact that they always will be should come as a surprise to no one.

How To Minimize Stress During World Travel and Tours

With world travel the very first thing you can do to reduce your stress levels is to have a travel agent you can trust. This is because you have no idea of all the rules and regulations that are going to come up during your world tours. Having an agent that you trust is a great source of stress reduction. This is because you do not have to worry about all the little details and the infinite amount of paperwork and changes that come up. A good travel agent can advise of things like your passports, visas, shots and immunizations, as well as providing tips on local customs and culture so that you can fit in more easily when you arrive.

There are a number of travel sites out there and the most popular ones deal with getting you the cheapest flights and hotels. This is great and wonderful for what they do and they are good at it. They however will not make sure that all the little details are taken care of or provide the personal touch that other sites and agencies can. I have found that world-travel-tour.com is one of those sites that does a good job of keeping their eye on all the small details.

World travel these days can be a very scary thing filled with all kinds of stress because of the events in the news. A good agent is aware of all those things and will do everything to make sure that you are safe. Your world tour will be enjoyable and relaxing when you have the assistance of a knowledgeable agent. Here are some other things to consider while on your world tour.

Make sure you have your schedule set and that you did allow yourself some "me time" in all the hustle and bustle of the trip that is something that can be easily forgotten. Keep your schedule realistic, these tour spots have been there for thousands of years and they will be there when you get to come back. Make sure you have a list of your medications and doctors so that if something should happen you can get proper treatment.

Bring a good book to read since the flights are long and you will have plenty of time to read and sleep. Make sure you get a good night's sleep before you head out on your flight. Even if your world travel is for business, schedule yourself some time for yourself to enjoy the new location you are in, instead of just trying to cram in back to back meetings and appointments. You will be able to enjoy being in the place you're at for the meeting and be well rested and be able to work better in the end.

Relax and enjoy your world tour and find all the secrets the world has to offer. If you go to world-travel-tour.com it will be a good start to finding what the secrets are. The secret after all is that this world travel stuff really does not have to be filled with stress and doubt. If you want that, then go to work, world travel is about stress free time for you.

Hey Baby Boomers - Here is some Travel Advice Just for You!

If you were born between the end of World War II and the beginning of the Vietnam War, you are a Baby Boomer. Some Boomers have taken early retirement already, and others are on the verge of this new chapter in their lives. 'Travel' is at the top of the list for many.

* Planning Your Trip *

Your travel itinerary should be part of a careful process. Plan a holiday with plenty of 'you' time. You should finish every vacation feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Baby Boomers are generally quite fit when compared to our ancestors. However, increasing numbers of obese or overweight adults are plagued with bad backs, high cholesterol levels, and fragile knee joints.

Don't just pick a cruise and pack your bags. Keep your interests and physical limitations in mind. If you are a swimming fanatic, you might want to try scuba diving. However, asthma would preclude a scuba vacation. You might have to settle for snorkeling instead. If you have a bad back, don't plan to go hiking in the Andes.

The older you are, the less likely you are to have a comfortable night's sleep. Try to find a hotel or bed and breakfast with memory foam mattresses and soundproof walls.

When booking your room, ask the reservations desk if they offer discounts for seniors. Some lodging establishments will provide a substantial discount as early as age 55. Don't consider yourself 'old' just because you are 55. Think of some fabulous Baby Boomers like Suzanne Somers, Donald Trump, Sylvester Stallone, and Dolly Parton. They all celebrated 60th birthdays in 2006.

* Preparations *

Apply for a passport at least 6 months in advance if you don't already have one. Some countries will not allow you to cross their borders with a passport that is near its expiry date. Contact embassies or do some research online so that you are aware of current regulations.

Check with your physician to see if there are any activities you should avoid. Your doctor can also advise you regarding immunizations, give you prescription refills, and provide photocopies of crucial medical information. Many countries will only allow clearly labeled prescription medications where the name on the bottle matches the passport. If you require supplies like alcohol swabs and other support products, purchase them ahead of time. You may not be able to locate what you need in a foreign country.

Be aware of the coverage provided by your current medical insurance policies. It may be prudent to purchase extra insurance for unexpected (and uncovered) contingencies such as air evacuation.

* Packing *

Travel activities can cause swollen feet. Sensible, comfortable footwear that is one width wider and 1/2 size larger than usual is advisable. Never pack brand new shoes or boots.

Sleep disturbances become more frequent as we age. Pack some foam earplugs so you won't have to worry about your partner's snoring, creaking floorboards, or disturbances in the hallway outside your room.

Many of us find that foods we used to enjoy now cause symptoms like gas, cramps, or constipation. At home, we can compensate by watching what we eat. However, when dining in restaurants, we are often faced with unfamiliar and exotic fare that can wreak havoc with the gastrointestinal system. Pack a bottle of digestive enzymes. They are available in big department stores like Wal-Mart, as well as pharmacies and health food stores.

A small memory foam travel pillow can cradle your head while you nap onboard the plane - or it can provide relief from a sore back if you put it between your knees while you sleep at night.

Keep your hands free when you go on tours. A good backpack is the key. Shop around until you find a comfortable pack that is easy to put on and remove.

* Partay! *

Each day before you leave the room, check the weather forecast and dress accordingly - in layers. If you get too warm later in the day, you can peel something off and put it in your backpack.

Your backpack can also be used for meds, your travel pillow, a bottle of water, and other essentials. Valuables and important papers should never go in the pack, however. Keep them in a next-to-skin money belt (zipper side in) with only small amounts of cash in another easily accessed wallet or pocket.

Fresh water is crucial. Proper hydration will keep your energy level at optimum and prevent that old travel bane - constipation.

Wherever you go, whatever you do, wear a smile and be polite. A cheerful attitude will be infectious and will transform your time away from home into a truly happy, memorable experience.
